Vancouver Island :: Cowichan Region Map
Cowichan is an adaptation of a native word meaning 'bathed by the sun'. This region is so named, because of its unique climate - it has the highest mean temperatures in Canada. The journey to the valley from Victoria is part of the experience. Heading north from Victoria, over the magnificent Malahat mountains, you'll experience one of the world's most magnificent drives. You'll swoop through lush green forests, suddenly surprised by magnificent views of the sparkling ocean and the distant blue green vistas of the mainland to the east.
